Dare We Say Spring We've set the clocks forward. Experienced the first near 70-degree days of the year. And it's supposed to snow again this weekend. Dare we say Spring? It seems like another wild and unpredictable month of March. Like the weather, Tahoe's had some wild jobs as well. Our crews just repaired this aluminum, overhead-track slide gate in Fernley (Lyon County.) Our recently installed cantilever gate had an unfortunate run-in with a much bigger vehicle. Even though it took damage, the gate still functioned. And now Tahoe's crews have it looking and working as good as new. What’s More Irish?

What's More Irish? It's St. Patrick's Day weekend. Which begs the question, what's more Irish? A 3-leaf clover? Or a 4-leaf clover? It's said St. Patrick used a three-leaf clover to explain the Holy Trinity. While a four-leaf clover, is itself considered lucky. Only about 1 in 10,000 plants grow four leaves. At Tahoe, we're leaning 3-leaf. But to be sure, our welding shop in Mound House (Lyon County) made both 3 and 4-leaf clover yard art/decorations. They are created from old, chain link fence fittings. It's International Women's Day. Here's a shout out to all women (our mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, friends) for everything you do. Thank you. And as our mother likes to remind us, "Remember to set your clocks ahead 1-hour this weekend for Daylight Savings Time." Stout Construction

Stout Construction It's been a while since Tahoe's done highway guard rail. The South Lake Tahoe Airport, and Antelope Valley Wellness Center in Coleville, are the most recent that come to mind. But our crews diligently completed the stout construction of this project in Fernley (Lyon County.) The guard rail is to help vehicle traffic, mainly school buses, navigate a curved section of road adjacent to a drainage ditch. Since no angle or radius was detailed in the plans provided, Tahoe was responsible for the design and build of the rail to match the roadway. Love Mania 60-years ago today, the "Beatles" debuted on American TV with Ed Sullivan. America cemented its love mania with the "Beatles" when they played their 1st song on the show, "All My Lovin." Seems fitting with Valentine's Day coming this next week. If you're expecting manic crowds of America's lovesick teenagers, or whatever (we're not judgmental,) look into protecting your property perimeter. Groundhog Day Again The Bill Murray movie has forever changed how we think about today. And if you didn't already know, it's Groundhog Day again. And if you believe in this sort of thing, the groundhog didn't see its shadow. Spring is coming early, even though we're expecting another big storm this weekend. Maybe it's a Spring storm. Tahoe's crews are also feeling a little deja vu today. They're working on another biofuel farm project, similar to this one pictured in Yerington (Lyon County.) The fence is almost 2,000 linear feet of 7-foot high, all black chain link with 6-strands of barbed wire. And gates. There are lots of big gates. Big enough to truck whatever they want through.Groundhog Day Again

And if you wanted privacy, there aren't too many options that provide a similar cozy effect. But a wood fence around our area requires maintenance. Broken, damaged, and weathered pieces eventually need to be repaired or replaced. If you decide to stain or seal your wood fence, it has to be repeated at minimum every couple or few years to maintain the look. WINDS (When In Nevada Does't Stop?) You may have noticed it's been a bit breezy this January. The winds have felt like they weren't ever going to stop. This past weekend NV Energy reported that Northern Nevada had an 18-hour, high-wind event. And the National Weather Service recorded 79 mph winds in the Jacks Valley area. The week before nearly 90 mph winds were recorded in Washoe Valley. For perspective, the National Hurricane Center classifies a category 1 hurricane as having sustained winds of 74 to 95 mph. All of us at Tahoe Fence hope everyone impacted by the recent storms are safe and doing alright.
