What Goes Up

Legend has it that Isaac Newton is credited with saying, “What goes up must come down.”

Although that statement was most likely referring to gravity, it applies to automated gates as well.

Automated gates, like automated garage doors, can make entering and exiting properties easier. You can open either without having to get out of your vehicle. More often than not, you can have them open as you approach so you hardly have to wait.

But it’s important to remember, they are made for vehicles. Automated gates are not for pedestrian access. And as a result, it’s important to make sure the safety features are working properly, like photo eyes, safety edges, force and timer settings.

And if you do have pedestrians entering and exiting the property, make sure there is a separate access specifically for people and not vehicles.

Because in the case of an automated tilt-up gate or garage door, what goes up will come down!
