Little Things

Little Things Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference. Saying hello to people you meet. A warm smile. Doing what needs to be done because it's the right thing to do. Tahoe did a woodgrain, PVC fence and gate a couple years back. The gate started to sag (even with an internal metal frame.) It had become difficult for the homeowner to open and close the gate without help. After checking and making sure the hardware was tight and adjusted where it needed to be, a metal truss was added to correct the gate's internal frame. From our customer: "Thank you very much for sending out . . . to install a cross-brace on the gate . . . The owner . . . is very pleased that the gate latch works easily."Little Things

Where There’s Smoke . . .

They say where there is smoke, there is fire.
Unfortunately, we are socked in with smoke again. And sadly, it’s because we have several active fires around us.

If you want to do more to protect your home, business, and property from fire, one solution is to install non-combustible fence material next to structures. There are different options you may use, but usually anything metal will suffice.

And the options are customizable depending on your needs. You can maintain full privacy, semi-privacy, or an open see-through design.

Let’s Celebrate

Let's Celebrate It's Labor Day Weekend. And Tahoe would like to celebrate by thanking our employees and customers for helping us get voted as one of the Top 3 Fence Companies again by the “‘Nevada Appeal’ Best of Carson City 2022." Tahoe Fence has been voted one of the best every year since 2009. We are the only fence company to be voted in the Top 3 each year (humble brag!) So, thank you for helping us be one of the best for over a decade. Built To Last

Built To Last Like most things, not all fences are made alike. So, what do you do when you have to replace something you originally did 35 years prior? You build the replacement to do the same. Like this dogear redwood Tahoe's crews constructed to honor its predecessor in Carson City. Steel posts set in concrete 6 feet on center. Bottom 2x12 kicker board. 4-2x4 rails and 1x6 dogear boards. The customer's landscaping and yard decorations were put back in place to tie both old and new together. Yeah, it may be overbuilt. But it's built to last.Built To Last

Job To Remember

Some jobs bring back fond memories. Either it was your 1st build on your own, an awesome build that made you stand out from the competition, great customers, etc.

This one was the first I built with my kid. Not really a kid anymore as much as a teenager. But it was fun working together. And couldn’t be prouder of the hustle, effort, and initiative they showed this season in the office and in the field.

Yep, this is a job to remember.

Celebrating The Gridiron

Celebrating The Gridiron

It’s back, football season is back.

In honor of the gridiron, term referring to football played in North America, Tahoe has its own gridiron style fence. Like football fields up until the 1920s which had a checkerboard pattern (gridiron), this Tahoe Fence uses a gridiron style welded-rod utility panel. The panels are sandwiched between redwood framing and pressure treated posts.

It’s Hot and We’re Cool with That

This is our ’56 Chevy at Tahoe’s yard. Our dad had to have it because it was the make and model of car he learned to drive with.

Difficult to justify keeping around the fence yard, until you see our kids fall in love with it like our father.

No AC, but you have windows you can direct the airflow into the cabin. Just drive faster for more air. Plus, the car is a classic. As good a reason as any to wash it and make it shine.

And you can have someone post a selfie of you legally driving without seatbelts (it’s a classic and has lap-belts.)

Yeah, it’s hot and we’re cool with that.

Have a safe and fun time this August at all the area car shows.

“Adaptation”

Tahoe’s word for today is “adaptation.”

With prices and availability for material continuing to be far out there, adaptation is key.

Tahoe has customers who are waiting for heavy (old Tahoe), grape stake cedar. The problem is we’ve been waiting months for a unit at a time. And the units are outrageously expensive.

The solution, adapt to the situation. Tahoe has reclaimed grape stakes. They’re what remain from previous projects and tear outs but are in excellent condition. 1st, Sort for height and condition. 2nd, Remove the nails without leaving hammer marks. 3rd, bundle units.
